Common Problems and Fixes for the Freedom 24/7 Cordless Hair Straighteners
The Freedom 24/7 Cordless Hair Straighteners are the weapon of choice for any festival goer or camping fanatic. They provide the user with up to 2 hours of heat styling, 3 heat settings and of course no annoying cable!
They have become extremely popular giving fantastic performance on the move, especially seeing as this is a concept that the larger brands such as GHD and Cloud Nine haven't jumped onto yet.
Many customers have come across a few issues when trying to use the styler, however they can be solved by following the advice below.
1. The Charging Light does not come on when plugged into the Mains?
This is the most common problem that has arisen from this styler, yet 99% of the time this is caused by user error. The confusing thing is that there is a small rectangular adaptor in the box (shown in picture below) which is for use in the car when using the car charging kit. It is not obvious at all that this adaptor is only for use in the car and so many people are using it when plugging in the mains as well. This does not work, and therefore makes the styler look faulty.
When charging from the mains ensure that the mains plug is inserted DIRECTLY into the docking station and it should work and charge perfectly. You should only use the small rectangular adaptor when charging from the car or 12v power supply.
2. The Charging Light does not come on when plugged into the car charger?
This is essentially the opposite of 'problem 1'. When charging from a car cigarette lighter, or any 12volt power supply you must use the small rectangular power converter which is supplied in the box. It sits between the power supply, and the charger.
This adaptor converts the 12 volt power into the voltage needed to charge the batteries as the power through your mains, and from a car is very different!
3. The batteries do not hold their charge for very long?
When you first purchase the styler you should charge each of the batteries for at least 2 hours, or together for 4 hours. This is because batteries, if not used until empty or not charged fully before use, will lose their charging capacity.
Please ensure that you always fully charge the batteries and you should have no problems.
All in all the Freedom Cordless Hair Straighteners are extremely good, it is just the instructions that appear a little vague. Definately a fantastic buy and well worth the price tag which is around the £60 mark depending on where you purchase.
