Bosch Rotak Mowers Review
Bosch Rotak lawn mowers are engineered with care and great skill. Lightweight yet robust, they are more than capable of handling any garden grasscutting jobs.
There is a range of mowing widths to choose from depending on the size of lawn, and three of the models are available as cordless rechargeables.
Mains Powered
The smallest of the range is the Rotak 320. The 320 is simpler in design from the larger models in the range. It is powered by a 1000w motor and has a cutting width of 32 cm. Simple yet robust, it comes very reasonably priced.
The other members of the mains electric Rotak range are all very similarly styled to each other and range in size from 34 cm through 36, 40 and 43 cm cutting widths. Motor power ranges from 1400w to 1800w.
The front wheels are mounted inside the line of the blade housing, which carries Bosch's patented grass comb system which directs the blades of grass into the cutter. These two features combine to enable the user to cut right up to the edge of the lawn, even against a wall or fence, without leaving an uncut strip.
Adjustment of the cutting height between 20 and 70 mm is easily achieved on all models.
They are astonishingly lightweight, varying from 11 to 13.5 kg. Transporting them is easy with the moulded carry handle. The main handle is foldable which makes for convenient storage.
The grassboxes are a good size of either 40 litres for the three smallest, and 50 litres for the two largest models.
All Bosch Rotak mowers carry a 24 month manufacturers warranty.
Cordless
There are three cordless versions, the 34Li, 37Li and 43Li.
All feature advanced Lithium-ion battery technology. Batteries can be fully recharged in just 1 hour, rapid-recharged to 80% capacity in 30 minutes and are not affected by memory-degradation.
In other respects the cordless models are very similar in spec to the mains mowers. They are similar in weight, from 12.8 to 13.8 kg. Cutting heights and adjustments are similar. They all have the same inset wheels and innovative grass combs of their mains-powered equivalents and are similarly easy to transport and store.
You can expect to pay around twice the price for a cordless model as for a mains-powered equivalent. All come with Bosch's 24 month warranty.
The Bosch Rotak mower range of electric rotary lawnmowers is rightly popular. They are are readily sourced and come with very keen prices.
