Review of the Earthwise 60120 20-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Lawn Mower
When looking for a new lawn mower you may well come across the Earthwise 60120 Cordless Lawn Mower. This is one of the more popular of the cordless models and, as the name suggests, the marketing tends to focus on the fact that it is responsible for less emissions than its gas powered cousins. So let's take a look at whether it really matches up to the competition.
The Earthwise 60120 is a 3-in-1 mower which means that it disposes of the grass cuttings in one of three ways; mulching, side discharging or rear bagging. Mulching tends to be the most popular choice as it is so much easier and no need to worry about having to dispose of the grass clippings. However, this tends to work best in dry conditions when your lawn is not too long. In damp conditions or long grass then rear bagging or side discharge may be better.
This model has a 24 Volt battery so is pretty powerful as cordless lawn mowers go, and matches many gas powered models. The battery is easily removed which makes for convenient charging. In normal conditions you can expect to be able to cut a third of an acre from a single charge, although this will vary according to weather conditions.
Being as it is a cordless lawn mower there are none of the hassles of a gas powered mower, so no gas or oil cans to worry about and starting just requires a flick of switch. None of the frustrations of dealing with pull cord starts here! And as it is cordless there are none of the frustrating limitations of corded electric mowers.
The Earthwise 60120 features a single lever height adjustment, so it is easy to get the height that you want for your grass. The oversize rear wheels make it easy to navigate uneven terrain and stops you from getting bogged down in long grass.
The only downside with this mower is that it is not self propelled. But the fact that it is light and the easy rolling ball bearing wheels make it easy to push and get your lawn done in no time.
Of course as it is a cordless lawn mower, the Earthwise 60120 allows you to cut down on the amount of emissions that you are responsible. So not only is it good for your lawn, it is good for the environment.
